Here you will find an alphabetically ordered overview of the terms used in the firesys software.

A

Aggregate

You can use the Aggregate function to create total that ignore hidden rows.

Account aggregate

An account aggregate consists of at least two account calculations or at least one account calculation with several account values. It is stored in the MeetingPoint and is also changed as soon as the values of the account values present in the calculation change. The account aggregate adds and subtracts individual account values or account calculations. The partial result can be optimized with a multiplication or division for further use. After an account aggregate has been created, the final result can be further adjusted using the manual rounding value.

Account calculation

An account calculation is a mathematical calculation of several account values. The result of this account calculation is also stored in the MeetingPoint and is also changed as soon as the values of the account values present in the calculation change. The account calculation adds and subtracts individual account values - and then the partial result can be optimized with a multiplication or division for further use. After an account calculation has been created, the final result can be further adjusted using the manual rounding value.

Accounts folder

The account folder is a convenient way to make a variety of data intended for validation available to all firesys users in the MeetingPoint. Based on an Excel file, this makes it easy to link data from the consolidation system to the firesys world.

Account group

An account group is the central administrative unit for working with account values. An account group must be given a unique name and is stored in the MeetingPoint. Account values can then be collected and structured in this account group. The individual components of the account group can be viewed, edited and deleted in the Master value manager.

Note: When an account group is deleted, all information stored in this account group is also deleted and this process cannot be reversed.

Account value

Account values are numbers (master values) that are provided to the MeetingPoint from account folders for e.g. cross-file validations. They must be assigned a name, an associated account and a key date. Account values stored in the MeetingPoint can be used in all Ecxel workbooks.

Archive folder

The archive folder is used to save the account values. It can restore archived account values at any time after creation.

Autocorrect

Autocorrect is the central location for terms that must be spelled consistently across publications. If you include terms in the autocorrection, they are automatically checked as you type and corrected immediately.

Automated worksheets

With the automated worksheets, firesys offers a way to efficiently insert numerical values from MeetingPoint into your Excel document. All you need is the information on accounts or account calculations to directly insert key date-related values into the number columns.

C

Color scheme

Define your own format templates for the firesys layout and save the result as a color scheme. Documents can be recolored with these color schemes.

Content manager

Divide the content of your publication into any number of "stories" that can be edited independently by different employees. Identical content can now be maintained in just one place so that it is always up-to-date in several publications. The Content manager displays an overview of all the stories in the document, for which you can then select various options.

Coupler

The coupler is used to keep certain expressions together so that they are never separated by line breaks. This automatic process places non-breaking spaces or suppresses spacing between all defined expressions.

D

Dashboard

The firesys dashboard is the entry point to the software. You have a lot of useful information on tiles in direct access.

Data in text

With Data in Text you can transfer individual contents from an Excel cell to Word. As with tables, these are linked to the Excel folder and show you at any time in the Excel data manager whether the data is up-to-date.

Data import

Read your data into the MeetingPoint by importing it as a CSV or TXT file. By specifying the account group and key date, you can then manage and use the imported data in the Master value manager.

E

Excel data manager

This "control center" gives you an overview of the status of your publication and allows you to determine which data is not yet up-to-date, for example. If there is a problem with an object, you will find more detailed information and a corresponding solution suggestion here.

F

Factor

The "Factor" can be used for validations of different unit sizes. Thousands, millions and billions are available for selection.

firesys-Layout

At this point you will find many useful functions for editing your data. For example, create or edit color schemes and apply them to your document, change the font size of the entire document, or edit numbering and tables.

Freeway

Freeway is an online service platform to manage translation projects.

G

Graphics manager

The Graphics manager gives you an overview of all linked graphics. With a double click you can navigate to the graphic in the report. In addition to the status of all linked graphics, you will also find useful additional information such as the file type and see whether the graphic is currently hidden.

K

Key date

A key date is a calendar day for which account values or account calculation and account aggregates can be created. A key date must be created in the format MM/DD/YYYY.

Knowledge Base

In the Knowledge Base you will find help about firesys and Microsoft Office. Here you can also view all further developments or bug fixes for a firesys version or module.

L

Layout check

An incorrect font size, a slight difference in the background shading of a table or an incorrect line boldness. The “Layout Check” function checks your files for formal design problems and detects such problems faster and in more detail than the human eye ever could. It also immediately provides assistance with their correction.

Layout manager

With the Layout manager you can create new colour schemes or edit existing ones. You can use format templates to adapt texts, tables and diagrams to your corporate design and then apply them to your documents.

M

Manual rounding value

The artificial calculation value supplements the creation of an account calculation with a subsequent (optional) calculation. The current result of the account calculation is loaded from the MeetingPoint and changed by entering a manual rounding value (it can be added or subtracted). As soon as a Manual rounding value has been entered, the initial value of the account calculation is changed in the MeetingPoint. This value can be adjusted at any time by editing or removing the manual rounding value.

Manual value

A master value that can be used for cross-file validations, entered directly in the MeetingPoint.

Master

We use this to refer to a Word document, such as a business report, that several people can work on simultaneously. The document is divided into several "chapters", so-called stories, which can be worked on in parallel. At any time, you can get an overview of the status of the entire publication in the master.

Master value

All values in MeetingPoint that can be worked with across files. For example, master values can be inserted on automated worksheets or used for validations. They can be provided from sender files or entered as manual values directly via the Master value manager in the MeetingPoint.

Master value manager

The Master value manager is the visualization tool for all information that has been stored for working with master values in the MeetingPoint. In addition to the possibility of displaying the structure of the individual master values, you can also add new master values and edit or delete existing contents.

Master dictionary

All translations of your tables and data in the text are consolidated in one place here.

MeetingPoint

All customer-specific adjustments, such as the format templates or the customer's table design, are located in the MeetingPoint. Additional layouts are also stored in MeetingPoint.

R

Receiver file

Receiver files are all Excel files that validate with master values.

Recipient cell

Recipient cells are values (master values) of an Excel file that are used in cross-file validations.

Relative path

If this function is activated, the relative path is used for the graphics, tables or stories instead of the absolute path. This means that when the publication is rolled forward and the folder struc-ture remains the same, all links are found automatically.

Roll forward

When working with firesys, you should be able to work sustainably on your business reports and at the same time prepare your report for the next quarter or fiscal year. With the roll forward, values that are in one column of an Excel workbook can be automatically transferred to another column after the setup process. Using this master data, you can quickly and easily create a basis for further reports.

S

Sender file

Sender files are Excel files that provide the MeetingPoint with master values for cross-file validations.

SparkShape (layoutgraphics).

SparkShapes are powerful Excel-based charts that combine the computational power of Excel with the design capabilities of PowerPoint.

StatusCockpit

The StatusCockpit provides you with an overview of your Excel file. Both spreadsheets and areas are clearly displayed here and you can navigate to them directly. The status that you can assign to individual worksheets via the Navigator is also displayed here. Spreadsheets that have been given the status "Approved", i.e. released and final, are protected from editing.

Story

A story is a chapter of a master document.

StyleGuide

Text functions are available here in a task-oriented palette when working with firesys. Select the text formats that have been developed specifically for your publication in accordance with the applicable design specifications.

Sub-dictionary

We refer to Excel workbooks that are linked to a Master dictionary as Sub-dictionaries. Sub-dictionaries can access all translations of the Master dictionary.

Synopsis sheet

In Excel, this refers to a worksheet on which terms including their translations can be found.

T

Table assistant

The Table assistant creates tables in the corporate design of your company. When you import or update tables from Excel, firesys takes care of the layout all by itself. The Table assistant is your personal assistant for creating new, empty tables and for changing existing tables in the specified layout.

Tagging

With toolsxbrl you can use drag & drop to label (= "tag") your financial information in a machine-readable way. You can edit your data both in the Word document and in the PDF document.

Tags

Tags are control characters to create formatting such as tabs or superscripts, which are displayed in the dictionary and on the worksheets. When transferring your Excel data to Word, these will of course be removed.

Task pane

A task pane in firesys is a sidebar on the right side of the Word or Excel window that contains additional tools. You can also close or undock these windows at any time with the buttons in the upper right corner.

think-cell

Software used in PowerPoint and Excel to create high-quality graphics.

Translation manager

Manages all translations that are stored in Excel. Here you can get a list of all existing translations and edit them for all files linked to the MeetingPoint.

Transmitter value

Transmitter values are numbers (master values) that are provided to the MeetingPoint from Excel files for cross-file validations.

V

Validation and consistency

Via the validation sheet you have the possibility to compare "pairs of numbers" with each other and thus check for validation and consistency. The pairs of numbers are clearly summarized on the validation sheet, and deviations are also displayed.

Version manager

The Version manager shows you who entered and changed which content and when. If necessary, you can restore earlier versions at any time. The versioning function records your current Word document and the external data sources belonging to it.

W

Web version

Create an HTML document of your financial report to publish it layout-compliant on the Internet. The table export saves all tables including the allocated footnotes in your word document in one Excel file. If an HTML document was also created, a download link to each table is automatically generated.

Worksheet inspector

The Worksheet inspector helps to detect errors and inconsistencies. For this purpose, the inspector displays relevant information of the current worksheet in a task area in Excel. Missing translations, Excel errors or hidden rows or columns are clearly displayed. Errors can be highlighted at the click of a button.
