Hover the cursor over the table you want to change.

Open the table assistant.

Follow the steps described in the <a href="http://hilfe.firesys.de/wiki/Tabellen_in_Word_gestalten#Tabellenassistent_-_Eine_leere_Tabelle_neu_erstellen" title="Design tables in Word">“Create a new, blank table”</a> section.

After selecting a different template for an existing table, you will be prompted by firesys warning that manual formatting you previously applied to the table will be removed. If you click “Yes”, you might have to redo some of the manual formatting that you already applied to the table.
