Translations in Excel

The translation of the texts in your Excel tables can be automated in firesys by using a dictionary. Once a term and its translation(s) have been agreed, all further occurrences are also correct and consistent, even in the leading language.

The Excel data manager is the “control centre” for monitoring all translations that are saved in Excel. It is divided into an action area (in the menu ribbon) and a list area that displays all available translations. more

Terms and their translations are managed and updated with a master dictionary. This master resource can be accessed by any number of individual Excel files. All terms that have been entered can be used in all sub-dictionaries once they have been checked and translated. more

Working with translations is a central component of the firesys functions in Excel. These include functions for requesting terms, working with sub and master dictionaries and the AutoCorrect, and the view of the word list. more

The synopses worksheet is a worksheet which is set by firesys that contains the translated terms (including their translations). more

You can provide your translator with the dictionary for editing. At the same time, you can continue working on your Excel file while the translator is using the dictionary and then import it again. more

firesys provides additional export functions for translator exchange. You can use these to configure the contents that are exported according to your company specifications. more

Your direct access to the function-specific settings. You can always find the “Settings” menu option in the “firesys” group on the very left of the ribbon. more
