From firesys 2018, cells that are linked horizontally are automatically transferred to Word.

Format borders between table rows

  • Position the cursor in the table row whose border lines you want to change. Three different options are available for refining your selection:
    • If you want to format the border along the entire table row, you merely need to position the cursor anywhere in the row.
    • If you want to format the border above/below certain cells in a table row, you have to select the cells you want to format.
    • If you want to apply the same format to borders in several rows, select all cells you would like to format.
    • Click “Borders” to open a selection window with the “Above”, “Below”, “Right” and “Left” sub-menus.
    • Click the option to select the format you require.

The “Background” menu option is particularly useful for highlighting table rows or individual cells. Table columns can be highlighted in the “Highlight on/off” menu option.

Highlight columns in a table (assign a “highlight”)

  • Position the cursor in the table column that you want to highlight. If you want to highlight more than one column, select all relevant columns.
  • Click the “Highlight on/off*” menu option.
  • firesys highlights the selected column(s) in your table.

Changing the size of a table by scaling

  • Click on ‘Scale’ to open a selection window that shows you all possible scaling levels for the selected table
  • Select the desired scaling level by which you want to adjust your table
    • The scaling level influences the font size, the line spacing and the spacing before and after each paragraph
      • The values are adjusted as a percentage, depending on the selected scaling level
    • The scaling level ‘0%’ resets all cells of the table to the original size of the table
  • Note: Resizing tables only changes the font size, spacing before, spacing after and line spacing. All other formatting options that influence the row height (e.g. minimum row height) are not taken into account.

Cell info

This menu option can be used to check the formats of individual cells in a table.

  • Position the cursor in the cell whose formatting you want to check.
  • Click the menu option to open the cell info assistant. You see the

colour and thickness of the border frame for the active cell as well as the background colour, if applicable.
