The worksheet inspector has been enhanced with the publication of version 20.0.0. The “Validation” and “Master values” areas provide additional information about a selected Excel cell if this is part of a validation or maps amaster value.

A detailed explanation of the individual steps

This is how you insert a new validation in Excel:

  1. Click on the “Create validation” button in the “*Validation” menu ribbon in the “Validation and consistency” group
→ A selection dialog opens, displaying the various validation types.

  2. Select the “Single validation” function here.
→ Your Excel worksheet is extended with the validation work area.

  3. Use the mouse cursor to select the cell for which the validation should be created and in the “Value 1” range, click on “Transfer value from cell”.

  4. Now select the cell in your Excel workbook that contains the second value of the validation and in the “Select value 2” range, click on “Transfer value from cell”.

  5. Click “OK” to confirm the prompt.
→ An information dialog confirms that the validation was created.

  6. You can then use the “Go to validation worksheet” function to open the validation worksheet.

The publication of version 20.0.0 eliminates two errors that occurred when iXBRL documents were generated:
  • The process sometimes failed when a negative number was previously assigned a sign other than a minus sign.
  • With documents with tags in tables and text blocks, the generation process failed spo-radically and an exception error message was displayed.

This error has now been eliminated with the publication of version 20.0.0.
